My Teaching Philosophy

I believe...
  • The goal of education is to create informed citizens who are confident in making responsible decisions
  • That the role of the teacher is to meet each individual student's needs. It is also our responsibility to create a safe environment in which cooperative learning, as well as, individual learning may take place. Not only must a teacher create such an environment, but an educator must also be a mentor and an involved citizen in the community.
  • Students should be responsible for their own actions, arrive to class on time, and enjoy learning. Students have the right to learn in a way in which learning is fun and interactive.
  • That parents and community members should be actively involved with the school. They have the responsibility to take an interest in their child's learning. It is important for the community to come together and demonstrate democracy.
  • That knowledge is the key to success. Without knowledge, we as citizens would not be able to make informed decisions concerning our future and the future of our loved ones.
